Range
Eastern coast of the United States. Range extends north into New Jersey and south into Northern Florida, west into West Virginia and east to the Atlantic Ocean.
Habitats
Semi-aquatic. Coastal plains, bogs, swamps, and grassy vegetation near bodies of water.
Identification
Medium-sized frog, adult body length from 1-2 inches. Occurs in brown or bronze color with 4 lighter-colored stripes running down dorsal side. No dorsolateral ridges. Short hind legs and ventral side white with black mottled patterning. Distinguished from similar species due to the webbing on feet that does not reach tip of longest toe.
