Jackson's Chameleon have three cylindrical annulated bony horns on their head, although it may be diminished or absent in females. Males are green with a yallow lateral stripe, where females are darker green or gray with dark blotches.
Range
Jackson's Chameleon is native to Kenya and Tanzania, but introduced populations may be found in California and Hawaii.
Habitat
Jackson's chameleons in their native range are found in woodlands and forests at altitudes of 1,600 to 2,500 meters (5250 ft to 8200 ft). In Hawaii and California they can be found in wet habitats lower altitudes.
Name and etymology
Jacksonii: Honoring Frederick John Jackson, ornithologist and govenor of Kenya.
