Which models can draw a running bison?

The same six prompts, the same animals, ranked by hand.

How a run works

  • Each model gets one conversation and the six prompts in order, so “these look great” and “the previous costumes” refer to its own earlier work.
  • Prompt 1 attaches three 50 × 50 pixel-art walk cycles as the style to match: Umbreon, Leafeon, Jolteon. They are Pokémon sprites, so they are not shown here.
  • Models start in an empty folder with Cursor’s standard tools, including image generation. Prompt 1 asks each model to generate a reference sheet of key poses before it makes the gifs.
  • The gray lines at the end of each prompt are added by the harness so every model saves its gifs in the same place.

Prompt 1

Running

Run cycles in the style of the reference sprites.

Make new gifs with the art style and animation of the attached gifs. Images should be 300px by 300px with a transparent background. For each animal, first use image generation to make a reference sheet showing its key running poses side by side, and save it as {animal_name}-sheet.png in a sheets folder next to the gifs. Use the sheet as the source for every frame so the image quality is high. Quality of the image and the animation smoothness is very important. Match the pace and art style of the gifs. We want the animals to look like they are running like in the original gifs. File names should be in the lowercase, dashed, in the format of {animal_name}-motion.gif Here is the list of animals we want to animate: Mustela nigripes Bassariscus astutus Ursus americanus Puma concolor Bison bison

Prompt 2

Other gaits

Animals that swim, hop, glide, and crawl, in the same style.

These look great. Let's add some more animations but this time we're going to use animals that move differently. Keeping the same art style, focus on how each animal naturally moves. Change the number of frames when appropriate to capture the animal's natural movement. File names should be in the lowercase, dashed, in the format of {animal_name}-motion.gif Here is the list of animals we want to animate: Taricha torosa Anaxyrus retiformis Glaucomys sabrinus Zalophus californianus

Prompt 3

3D turn

A 3D style and a full 360 degree rotation, still in motion.

Let's change the art style now. Let's do it in 3d but keep the same playful video game art style. For each of the animals below, create a new gif that does a 360 degree rotation of the animal. The animal should still be performing the same motion as in the original gifs. Change the number of frames for the gif when appropriate. File names should be in the lowercase, dashed, in the format of {animal_name}-3d-motion.gif Here is the list of animals: Taricha torosa Anaxyrus retiformis Glaucomys sabrinus Zalophus californianus

Prompt 4

Behavior

Each animal doing something it naturally does.

Let's make an animation of each animal doing a natural behavior. For the black bear let's have it climb a tree. For the california newt, let's have it laying eggs. For the California sea lion, let's have it playing in the water. For each animal, create a new gif of that animal performing a natural behavior. File names should be in the lowercase, dashed, in the format of {animal_name}-behavior.gif

Prompt 5

Halloween

A different costume for every animal.

Halloween is coming up. Let's create a gif of each animal dressed up as a Halloween character. Pick a separate costume for each animal and create a new gif for each animal. File names should be in the lowercase, dashed, in the format of {animal_name}-halloween.gif

Prompt 6

Ringtail costumes

The ringtail tries on every costume from prompt 5.

We created some great costumes. Let's see what the ringtail would look like in each of the previous costumes. Create a new gif of the ringtail in each of the previous costumes. File names should be in the lowercase, dashed, in the format of {animal_name}-{costume}-halloween.gif
